Chaetomium is also among the toxic molds that can be found in your home. This mold is actually second in line following Stachybotrys in line for the most toxic molds. While many of these symptoms are noticeable, not everyone will experience the same health problems that others will. These symptoms can vary from person to person based on their overall health and age. Some health risks of toxic mold include pulmonary hemorrhaging or hemosiderosis in infants, nose bleeds, immune system suppression, hair loss, chronic fatigue, psychological depression, diarrhea, sore throats, headaches, flu-like symptoms, and dermatitis. Chaetomium’s health symptoms can cause a variety of problems like the common allergy symptoms like coughing and watery eyes, fungal infection in toenails, permanent DNA damage, inhibited cell reproduction, permanent neurological damage, and weakened immune systems. Aspergillus, the third in line for most toxic mold of the year, can cause weakened immune systems, low white blood cell count, lung cavities, asthma, cystic fibrosis, and long-term corticosteroid therapy.
